If you have ever wanted to paint in water colors, or longed to re-start after many years of not painting, and want to spend time painting in an incredible location, this is your chance.
If you have never been to a water color workshop, here is what you can expect:
·great camaraderie
·a fun, non competitive atmosphere
·delicious food
·an experience that may affect the rest of your life very positively
Our workshops are one day workshops, with a delicious home cooked lunch. They are for anyone who has dreamed of learning or relearning how to paint with Watercolors. They are NOT a workshop for advanced or professional watercolor artists. They are for those of you who either painted years ago and then stopped and want to re-enter the world of painting, or for those of you who have always wanted to try Water coloring but have been too shy or timid or worried about failing. There is no failure, only joy!!
The Location:
The workshops are held at either Two Pond Farm or Blueberry Point. Two Pond Farm is a small organic farm located between two ponds, surrounded by a forest with huge rock outcroppings. It is picturesque, with reflections on water, rocks, flower and vegetable gardens, farm buildings, farm animals, stone walls, pastures, and fencing. The farm house is spacious and offers views from every window, so we paint, rain or shine! Blueberry Point is my family's gracious 1940s home located on our private lake surrounded by a forest with huge rock outcroppings. It is picturesque, with reflections on water, rocks, large lawns with curving walkways, enormous old oak trees and wide sky vistas.. The home is spacious with large screened in porches and views from every large window, so we paint, rain or shine!
The Instructor:
I began painting when I was seven and continued until I was in my early 20's. Then I stopped. Thirty years later, I took a Watercoloring 're-entry' class and dove back into the world of light, texture, and color. Since then I have taken other workshops, and paint at least a few hours a week. I have won awards at local art shows (RMAA, Saint Catherine's of Bologna, and the Wallish Homestead), and now would like to help open up the wonder of painting with water colors to other people.
The Workshop in Brief
The Morning is dedicated to Water Coloring Techniques. You will learn about the different types of paper, watercolor brushes and how to use them, water color paints, and how to use them. You will practice brushstrokes, working with water on paper, and learn how to mix colors.
The Afternoon is spent on the techniques of painting outdoors with the ever changing light. You will learn about composition, approaching a water color painting step by step, and then you will have the opportunity to paint at least one landscape.
To insure a high level of instruction and quality of the workshop, participation is limited to ten people. Reservations and a deposit are required.
If you have any questions, or would like to reserve your space in this wonderful workshop, you can either call me or email me. If you know anyone who might be interested in this workshop, please feel free to pass this on to them!
Looking forward to painting (and laughing) with you!
